Frequently Asked Questions

What Class Should I take?

We understand what it’s like to walk into a new space and not know what to expect. If you’re new to On Center Yoga, you may not be familiar with some of the terminology, poses, or cues — and that’s completely fine. There is absolutely no judgment here.

Move at your own pace, take breaks when you need to, and feel free to simply observe if that feels right.

Arriving with an open mind is one of the best ways to begin your yoga journey.

What should I do if I have an injury?

We encourage all students to have medical clearance before joining any class at On Center Yoga. If you’re beginning a new fitness routine, are pregnant, or recovering from an injury, please consult your healthcare provider for guidance. Let your instructor know at the start of class about any injuries or physical concerns so we can help you practice safely.

What should I eat before class?

We recommend not eating anything heavy within 2 hours of class. You will feel better in your flow! Make sure to hydrate and bring water with you!

What should I wear to class?

We recommend wearing athletic clothing. No shoes are allowed in the Hot Yoga and Barre rooms.

If I’m not flexible, can I still do yoga?

Absolutely. Yoga isn’t about how far you can stretch — it’s about showing up for yourself. In every class, you’ll see people of all flexibility levels, fitness backgrounds, and body types. With consistent practice, your flexibility will naturally improve. Trust the journey.

Where should I put my belongings?

We provide cubbies outside our studio spaces for your convenience. Please keep valuables at home or secured in your car, as On Center Yoga cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.

What should I bring to class?

For yoga classes, bring water or an electrolyte drink, a large towel, your yoga mat, and a hand towel. Mats are provided for barre classes. If you don’t have your own, yoga mats and towels are available to rent at the front desk.
